Cajsa Siik (by Ellinor Wermeling 2020)

BIOGRAPHY - 2020-2021:

"I have a scene in my mind, where two women are riding in a car along a dramatic coastline, holding each other's hands. A crime has been committed. A line has been crossed. Could be mentally or physically. All the same, something has been left behind and there is nothing to return to. The fear, the power and the liberation in that solidarity. Perhaps female power. Or the power of being vulnerable together. Like a sort of confession, where you expose your worst fear and let go. They pass a beach, where there is a small, somewhat crestfallen dragon playing chess. It sits there alone - without an opponent - like a surrealistic part of the scene that somehow says you don't know anything about anything really. That everything and nothing is possible. The melancholic space between nostalgia and the future. "

This is how Cajsa Siik describes delicate pop number ”This Girl Has A Gun” which was the first single out from Siik’s forthcoming, fourth, studio album “Ninjō” that will be out in two parts: the first released in September 2020 and the second in spring 2021. The album is produced by Siik together with Erik Moberg and shows an artist once again finding a new self - playful and powerful. Siik released her debut album in 2012 and has since put out 3 studioalbums and 1 EP. Over the years she’s been praised in international media such as Q Magazine, BBC6, Line of Best Fit and Nylon. Her latest album, ”Domino”, took her on a European tour w/ Mitski apart from doing her own headline shows in Berlin and London.
